About Mission Alliance

Mission Alliance is a faith-based, Christian, NGO with headquarters in Norway. We aim to fight poverty and promote justice by being close, capable, and brave. We have fought poverty through sustainable development for over 100 years in South America, Asia, and Africa. Mission Alliance operates microfinance banks on these three continents. We have worked in Cambodia through local partnerships throughout the country since 2007 with a focus on community development in the areas of education, livelihoods, and natural resource management. 

About Business for Development (BfD)

In January 2022, we started to implement the Business for Development (BfD) project. BfD is another arm of Mission Alliance beyond our existing extensive work in community development and microfinance. With the new Business for Development project, we are now expanding our work to support local businesses. We work with some SMEs, primarily in the agriculture sector. We are helping businesses access relevant competency, technical support, market expansion, and finance through a wide network of partners.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Coach to join our team and assist entrepreneurs and business professionals in achieving their full potential. As a Business Coach, you will provide personalized guidance, mentorship, and strategic advice to help clients enhance their business acumen, leadership skills, and overall organizational performance. Your role will be crucial in fostering growth, increasing efficiency, and driving positive outcomes for a diverse range of businesses.

Duties
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Develop strong relationships with clients to understand their unique business goals, challenges, and aspirations.
  • Conduct thorough initial assessments to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Create customized coaching plans tailored to individual client needs and objectives.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with clients to set clear, achievable goals and define actionable steps to attain them.
  • Assist clients in formulating effective business strategies, including market analysis, competitive positioning, and target audience identification.
  • Skill Development:
  • Identify skill gaps and areas requiring improvement within the client's businesses.
  • Design and deliver targeted coaching sessions to enhance leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Performance Enhancement:
  • Provide guidance on optimizing operational processes, increasing productivity, and driving efficiency across various business aspects.
  • Offer insights to refine product or service offerings and align them with market demands.
  • Financial and Resource Management:
  • Assist clients in developing budgets, financial projections, and cost-cutting strategies.
  • Offer advice on resource allocation, investment decisions, and risk management.
  • Accountability and Progress Tracking:
  • Establish accountability mechanisms to track and measure progress toward established goals.
  • Regularly review and adjust coaching strategies based on evolving client needs and changing market conditions.
  • Industry Insights:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market shifts, and emerging best practices to provide clients with relevant and timely advice.
  • Share insights and knowledge through workshops, seminars, and written resources.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain detailed records of coaching sessions, progress reports, and action plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports to demonstrate the impact of coaching on client outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Business Coach, Management Consultant, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of various industries, business models, and market dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in assessing organizational needs and designing tailored solutions.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and empower clients.
  • Ethical and professional conduct with high levels of integrity.
  • Relevant coaching certifications are a plus.
  • Good English language skills including listening, speaking, writing, and reading, and having Khmer as mother tongue.
