Since 2005, Cambodian NGO, MoPoTsyo Patient Information Centre is reaching more and more diabetes and high blood pressure patients with services in public hospitals, health centers and communities through Peer Educator Networks: More than 200 trained diabetes patients in 28 operational districts in 12 provinces are volunteering as Peer Educators who help with counseling and access to services. They help facilitate the public services being used by more than 30,000 patients with Diabetes and Hypertension who are members of MoPoTsyo. Our not-for-profit Cambodian NGO works in close cooperation with Ministry of Health and other government counterparts to combine all efforts in combating the growing burden of chronic Non-Communicable Diseases. Assistant Accountant

Position Summary

Function Title: Assistant Accountant (Full Time 40 hours: Monday to Friday)

Directly Accountable to: Chief Accountant

Place in the organization: Finance & Admin Department at MoPoTsyo Head Office, Phnom Penh

Remuneration: The monthly salary will be in the range of (350$-400$) and paid in riels.

Objectives of the Role:

As an Assistant Accountant, the main responsibility is to prepare accurate and complete vouchers for all types of transactions in our accounts, reviewing all requests from each department on accuracy and completeness.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Assisting in preparation of accounting vouchers before posting in QuickBooks.
  • Reviewing all revenue documents before posting into QuickBooks.
  • Check daily bank statements to ensure the correctness of deposits by pharmacies and volunteers.
  • Check requests and support documents from other departments before further process.
  • Check monthly peer educator expenses reports.
  • File all vouchers properly.
  • Perform accounting functions as requested by Chief Accountant.
  • Perform additional work that needs to be accomplished properly and timely.
  • Reconcile A/R balance of contracted pharmacies in collaboration with Revolving Drug Fund Department.
  • Communicate to Head of Finance and Administration any overdue balance before payments are made.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Work Experience Minimum 1 year
  • Proficient in the use of QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel; experienced in using email and social media; skilled in working with documents in various data formats, including converting formats, naming files appropriately, and storing them systematically.
  • Knowledgeable about Cambodian taxation law, and completion of a tax agent training course is an advantage.
  • Being able to read, write and understand written English and Khmer.
  • Work properly and in a timely manner.
  • Flexible and ready to do other work
  • Eager to learn and problem-solving capability.
  • Understanding of and commitment to MoPoTsyo’s vision, values.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work in Team and with staff at all levels
  • Be able to perform under a bit of pressure
