Architect

Position Summary

WMF is looking for an energized and driven qualified Architect with at least 3 years of work experience (ideally on both design and construction phase) to join the Team in Siem Reap.

You will work alongside Engineer, Project Manager and Graphic Documentation Manager on two main projects based in Angkor Archaeological Park, related to the ongoing conservation project of Phnom Bakheng temple and the design & construction management of an Interpretation Centre.

In-Office in Siem Reap.

Salary range: $500 depending on level of experience. Benefits include paid annual leave, sick leave, special leave as per Labor Law, social security, severance indemnity. Probation period: 3 months.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Phnom Bakheng Interpretation Centre (PBIC)
  • Collaboration with the Project Manager from inception through the final stages of construction.
  • Act as a link among architects, site construction team, local authorities and other external parties.
  • Attend meetings and give presentations on behalf of WMF.
  • Review the design and construction information from the consultants.
  • Overview the design/construction progress until completion.
  • Conservation project of Phnom Bakheng temple
  • Alongside the Project Engineer, coordinate on-site conservation work and any technical, managerial and aesthetic matters concerned
  • Oversee and advise as needed the graphic documentation manager in the production of AutoCAD drawings
  • Develop and present design proposals that require architectural intervention as needed
  • Liaise with the site team and facilitate communication among professionals and technicians, between the working site and the office
  • Prepare internal and external reports on behalf of WMF
  • Organize relevant documents and drawings in Phnom Bakheng Conservation Project’s archive.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned depending on the actual needs.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • At least 3 years work experience ranging from design to construction phase
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – both in English and Khmer
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop) and MS Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
  • Good communication skills
