The American Corner Kampong Cham, under the partnership between UME-KPC and the US Embassy Phnom Penh, offers a diverse collection of English language books, references, and materials on various subjects, ranging from English language learning and teaching, American studies, history and culture, management, business, law, and politics, in both digital and hardcopy formats. The Library is well-equipped with computers with free and fast Internet/Wi-Fi connection and free access to digital library, databases, and other online sources. It is managed by bilingual staff that runs regular programs for the Cambodian public with speakers from around the world.

The American Corner is urgently seeking for a qualified applicant to fill the following position.

Report to: Director of UME-KPC Management/ US Embassy Phnom Penh

Duties
  • The incumbent shall perform the following duties and responsibilities. He/she will:
  • direct and manage the American Corner Kampong Cham;
  • plan and organize library programs and library staff to the benefits of UME-KPC and the US Embassy (i.e. key stakeholders);
  • provide information search service to patrons;
  • serve as a liaison between UME-KPC and the US Embassy Phnom Penh;
  • establish, maintain and expand the target audience in community;
  • manage and maintain the library collection and assets;
  • prepare annual and monthly activity and budget plans and reports;
  • prepare budget and expenditure requests, financial reports, and activities reports as requested by UME-KPC and the US Embassy Phnom Penh;
  • serve as a PR between the key stakeholders and the wider community; and
  • perform other tasks as required by the report line and the US Embassy Phnom Penh.
Requirements
  • The successful applicant must have the following minimum requirements.
  • A Cambodian national
  • Age between 25 to 40 years
  • At least 3 years of actual work experience in library administration/management
  • At least a Bachelor degree in library administration/management or any relevant field
  • Excellent oral and written communication in Khmer and English
  • Computer literacy (e.g. MS. Word, Excel, Power point, Access) and digital skills
  • Knowledge of library management system and (digital) library service
  • Commitment and passion to work
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Multi-tasking and well-organization
  • Good physical and mental conditions
