Specific Objectives:
The overall objective of the participatory action research is strengthening women workers are capable in conducting the participatory action research on the workers movement and the significant impacts of their livelihoods on the freedom of association and trade union. The action research will specifically focus on:
- Build capacity of women workers and promote their participation in formal and informal economic activities so they could identified the barriers faced in exercising freedom of association.
- Increase evident based advocacy documented by union leaders and workers and increase understanding of the important of participatory action research for enhancing solidarity and collective power.
- To generate credible evidence for dialogue with employers and government inform policies, labour law, the 2016 trade union law implementation, ILO convention C87, C98 to strengthen the social dialogue at national level
- The result of action research is effectiveness and document the changes contributed by the FAST project
Eligibility
- Experience and qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge and research experiences relevant to the field of the project especially understand the feminist action research concept
- Strong facilitation and qualitative research skill with the experience working with women workers and trade union as an asset
- At least 4 years of experience in conducting action research and action research training
- Have excellent written English skills and Khmer and demonstrated ability in writing briefing papers and other information products.
- At least master’s degree in a related area, preferably in labour rights and decent work, social science or gender and women's rights analysis and other relevant fields.
- Experience in conducting training on PAR and the research in area of labour rights, decent works, social science or gender and women’s rights, and other relevant fields.
- Able to examine, process and precisely dissect huge data, give brief outlines and clarify the importance of that data
- Ability to be flexible with time and work schedule on weekend as needed
- In-dept knowledge, skills and comprehensive experiences in monitoring and evaluation.
- Commitment to AAC's Child Protection and SHEA and Safeguarding policy
