Role Purpose
The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely recording of all financial transactions, supported by well-organized and compliant documentation.
A core responsibility of the role is the management and control of inventory, including statues and artworks, ensuring precise labeling, proper referencing, and full alignment between physical items and inventory records at all times, both within the gallery and with partner companies holding inventory on consignment.
The role also plays a key part in maintaining seamless coordination with the outsourced accounting and tax firm, reinforcing internal controls, and ensuring that all financial reporting meets Cambodian regulatory and tax requirements to the highest professional standards.
- Accounting and Inventory Operations
- Record customer payments with accuracy and diligence.
- Prepare photographs and supporting documentation for the export of artworks, when required.
- Maintain detailed daily financial records, including cash transactions, using Excel reports.
- Manage petty cash with strict control, accuracy, and transparency.
- Oversee full inventory management of statues and artworks.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and report discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory held with partner and consignee locations and ensure alignment with reports.
- Monthly Closing & External Coordination
- Prepare and organize supporting documents (vouchers, invoices, receipts).
- Prepare monthly cash and bank flow reports.
- Prepare monthly inventory reports with reconciliation.
- Coordinate with outsourced accounting firm and respond to queries.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in accounting or a similar role for 1 to 2 years
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom is an advantage for artwork documentation and export preparation.
- Familiarity with accounting systems is a plus.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
