Free the Bears has been active in Cambodia since 1997, being one of the first international organizations to support the Royal Government in the fields of wildlife conservation and animal welfare. Working in close partnership with the Cambodian Forestry Administration, Free the Bears has established a world-class bear rescue centre within Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre and a broader programme aimed at eliminating the illegal trade in bears and bear products throughout the country. The Cambodia Bear Sanctuary is home to 120 rescued sun bears and Asiatic black bears, with an established education and veterinary care programme, plus field research activities aimed at reducing demand for bear products and increasing protection for bears in the wild. Our team in Cambodia contains world leaders in the fields of bear care and social science, with hundreds of years of experience between them. We’re now seeking an Administrative Manager to help strengthen our team and continue driving this successful programme towards a future where bears are valued as an integral part of the natural environment and are no longer exploited or abused.
