Grassroots Networking Program Officer
Duties
- Assess capacity-building needs and monitor and evaluate effectiveness of partner organizations, including networks, especially in assigned focal areas
- Advise and strengthen NGO partners’ and networks’ capacity especially in regard to community organizing, environmental protection and natural resources management, legal and rights awareness, advocacy, and networking
- Maintain networks and manage relationships with partners and other stakeholders in Cambodia’s natural resources management
- Monitor and advise implementation of partner projects, including the promotion of synergistic and collaborative approaches between partners
- Contribute to civil society policy analysis and dialogue in regard to land and natural resources management and other rights issues, as requested or assigned
- Coordinate with other NGOs and networks to respond to crises or emergencies with partners, and cooperating CSOs
- Promote and advise CSO and affiliated community engagement in local governance
- Provide support and guidance to key networks and youth groups, at various levels, for advocacy at regional, national and international levels
- Coordinate on logistical arrangements and schedules, and document and report on capacity-building activities, as assigned
- Provide oral and written translations, as needed or requested
- Perform other duties, as requested or assigned
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in similar positions/organizations
- A relevant undergraduate degree, especially in one of the following areas: agriculture, rural development, forestry, environment, media, education, or relevant social science
- Proven track record in community organizing.
- Strong capacity-building experience, including facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and to exercise appropriate initiative on the job
- Fluency in English and Khmer, including strong writing skills in both
- Computer literate, skilled in word processing
- Abilities to work under stress and multi tasking scenario
- Willing to travel alone and stay overnight in rural areas
